Autonomous Underwater Vehicle
The Barracuda AUV® is small and light. It can be broken down to fit into a standard sized duffle bag and can be reassembled in about 5 minutes. Its small size and weight also makes it easy to launch and recover by hand and so it can be launched and recovered from the shore or from a small boat. This greatly reduces the logistics chain required to use the AUV. In its basic configuration the Barracuda AUV is marketed for about half the price of AUVs of similar size. The flexibility, maneuverability, and affordability of the Barracuda AUV design makes the vehicle the sensor platform of choice for commercial and government organizations
The Barracuda AUV® is completely modular. It can be completely disassembled and reassembled using standard hand tools. All of the components are interchangeable and replaceable. This makes the product more durable and serviceable in the field and offshore. Most of the components are Commercial Off the Shelf Parts, this feature makes the AUV cheaper to operate. The Barracuda AUV® can dive as deep as 600 meters and can cruise at 6 knots. The depth capability puts the Barracuda AUV in the medium sized AUV class, even though its size is in the mini-AUV class. The cruising speed also enables the Barracuda AUV® to collect more data in a shorter amount of time over other AUVs of similar size.
The Barracuda AUV® carries a variety of low power sensors for subsea operations. The design places the drive motors on the dive planes of the AUV. This is a departure from the tradition "torpedo" shaped AUVs, and allows the Barracuda AUV® to turn tighter than the conventional torpedo shaped AUVs, and even allows the AUV to reverse direction, which most other AUVs cannot do.
The Barracuda AUV® uses a Jetson Nano CPU/GPU which is a trainable artificial intelligence (AI) platform. This provides the Barracuda AUV the capability to detect and avoid obstacles using a forward-facing camera. The Jetson Nano can also be trained to perform object recognition, which enables it to perform search and find missions
The Barracuda AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) comes with several advantages, particularly for industries that require advanced underwater exploration, data collection, and inspections. Here are some reasons why you might consider purchasing a Barracuda AUV:
Autonomous Capabilities: The Barracuda AUV operates autonomously, meaning it can perform missions without constant human intervention, making it highly efficient for tasks in remote or deep underwater environments.
High-Resolution Data Collection: Equipped with advanced sensors, the Barracuda AUV can gather detailed data, including sonar imaging, mapping, and water quality analysis. This makes it ideal for underwater surveys, environmental monitoring, and research.
Versatile Applications: The Barracuda AUV can be used for a wide range of underwater tasks, such as marine exploration, offshore oil and gas inspections, search and rescue operations, and marine archaeology. Its adaptability makes it a valuable tool in various industries.
Durable Design for Extreme Conditions: Built for durability, the Barracuda AUV can withstand harsh underwater conditions, including high pressure, cold temperatures, and turbulent waters. This reliability ensures successful operations even in challenging environments.
Cost-Effective Operations: By automating tasks that would otherwise require a team of divers or manned submersibles, the Barracuda AUV reduces operational costs, such as labor, time, and safety risks.
Real-Time Data Transmission: The AUV offers real-time data streaming capabilities, allowing operators to monitor mission progress and make adjustments while the vehicle is still underwater, increasing operational efficiency.
Extended Range & Battery Life: The Barracuda AUV has long-range capabilities and an extended battery life, allowing it to cover vast areas and perform longer missions without needing frequent recharges.
Environmental Monitoring: The AUV is capable of monitoring changes in marine environments, making it invaluable for tracking pollution levels, conducting climate research, and preserving ecosystems.
In summary, the Barracuda AUV is an investment in advanced, autonomous underwater technology that can streamline operations, provide precise data collection, and increase efficiency across a wide range of underwater applications.
